First 2020 Corvette Sells For $3 Million

from Business Insider

Only one part of the Corvette remains the same from its prior generation, according to Chevrolet, and the winner also receives a guided tour of the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

“When you completely reimagine a car as iconic as Corvette, you get a beautifully sculpted mid-engine sports car that makes a powerful statement,” the automaker says.

General Motors CEO Mary Barra was on hand for the auction. The money from the car’s auction will go to benefiting the Detroit Children’s Fund, a non-profit that was created to help improve Detroit school qualities.

The first car off the production line for highly anticipated models is often auctioned by the manufacturer for charity as it is prized by collectors.

“DCF investments support the expansion quality schools public schools; the improvement of lower-performing schools; the development, retention, and recruitment of educators; and city-wide initiatives that support school quality,” Barrett-Jackson wrote in a statement.

The final winning bid was put down by car collector, former NASCAR driver, and current NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick, GM said.

This isn’t the auction house’s most expensive and outstanding Corvette auction achievement: in 2014, a 1967 L88 Corvette Coupe achieved $3.85 million during an auction. The convertible 2020 Corvette 3LT starts at $78,945. This means the $3 million achievement is 38 times its MSRP.

Chevrolet TrailBlazer Name To Return On New Small Crossover

A new report from Motor Trend alleges General Motors will revive the Chevrolet TrailBlazer name on a new crossover that will fill the narrow gap between the Chevrolet Trax and the Chevrolet Equinox.

The article claims that even though the Trax and TrailBlazer would be very similar to each other in size, the TrailBlazer would be a more premium model than the entry-level Trax and would thus attract a different kind of buyer.

Motor Trend asked Chevrolet marketing director Steve Majoros to comment on the TrailBlazer rumors, who allegedly smiled and said he couldn’t talk about future product, but added that fans should expect some Chevy news in the “2019 calendar year forthcoming.”

Customizing your car on the outside with lights is definitely a great idea if you want to improve the quality of it, but you should also consider changing the color, you can get professional help from these Maserati certified body shops

During traffic jams or between appointments, my Clasiq car has seen a whole lot of meals. With that much time spent in one space, I’ve taken a few stabs at creating the comforts of home within this tiny space.

A teaser image recently surfaced online showing a mysterious new Chevrolet crossover model found on the best chevrolet dealership. The image, which was first shown at General Motors’ Capital Markets Day last Friday, is believed to be the for the next-generation 2020 Chevrolet Trax. Motor Trend believes the crossover could be actually be the rumored TrailBlazer, however. It’s hard to say, with the luxury car dealership, teaser image making it difficult to tell if the vehicle shown is much larger than the current Trax. It does look quite a bit like the Blazer, though, which would make sense for a vehicle called the TrailBlazer. If you like versatile machines for both heavy personal and material transport take a look at this GMC Vandura deal. If you are looking for an used vehicle, check out this used Lexus gs 350.

This could also be the model that was spied testing at GM’s Milford proving grounds (below) which was previously believed to be the Trax. With the two apparently being similar in size, it would be hard to distinguish between them without knowledge GM’s future product plans.

The arrival of a crossover that will slot in between the Trax and Equinox seems inevitable, though. Majoros told  Motor Trend that “in this day and age, you can’t have too many,” crossovers, so the automaker is absolutely looking at adding another to its already concentrated CUV portfolio. Whether or not it adopts the TrailBlazer name or not remains to be seen, and if you’re planning to use this car for services as Uber, you can get cheap uber insurance quotes just for this purpose.

Where such a vehicle would be built is another mystery. GM could employ one of its US plants to build the so-called’ TrailBlazer’, or build it in profit-friendly Mexico. Korea is another option, which builds the current Chevrolet Trax at its plant in Incheon just outside of Seoul.

GM Authority will have all the details on the new Chevrolet Trax and TrailBlazer is they become available.

Rendering of the 2016 Chevy Camaro

It does resemble the current generation of the breed, but the devil is in the details

2016 Camaro Rendering  More specifically, the 2016 model year Chevrolet Camaro borrows some exterior styling cues from a wacky Autobot we refer to as Bumblebee, the one from the fourth movie in the Transformers saga.

We expect the headlights and taillights to not make it into production, but as far as panels, creases and everything in between is concerned, this is 90 percent of how the long-awaited 2016 Camaro will be like.

Proper information on the 2015 Dodge Challenger and 2015 Ford Mustang’s rival is still scarce at the present moment, but expect its GM Alpha platform to keep the Camaro’s weight in check.

New Chevrolet Corvette C7 Z06

The new Chevrolet Corvette C7 Z06, an uprated version of the Corvette C7, has been unveiled at the Detroit motor show.

Chevrolet’s high-performance Z06 moniker first appeared on the C2 generation of Corvette with a pickup kayak rack , in 1963. It was followed, decades later, by the C5 Z06 and C6 Z06.

This generation of Z06, however, is the first with a removable roof, optional eight-speed automatic transmission and – more notably – a supercharged V8 engine.

Power comes from Chevy’s new supercharged 6.2-litre ‘LT4’ V8. It utilises direct injection and variable valve timing to help produce “at least” 625bhp and 635lb ft.

In line with its high-performance nature, the LT4 in the Z06 benefits from a dry sump oiling system, ensuring the correct oil pressure is maintained in strenuous conditions. Make sure to check out the auto glass repair tec at, all you need of automotive services like auto glass repairs, oil change, tire installation, wheel alignment, and others.

Saif Yasin has recently announced Chicago Autohaus glass replacement has now officially been added as a service. The famed Chicago company recently partnered with Hertz rental cars and with the partnership has come the addition of new services also including auto maintence, vehicle towing and of course, winsheild repair.

Other notable design features of the engine include a 10:1 compression ratio, titanium intake pneumatic valves, forged aluminium pistons and machined connecting rods.

Thanks to the use of a compact 1.7-litre Eaton supercharger, the LT4 is only 25mm taller than the standard LT1 engine. This helps keep the Corvette’s centre of gravity low, improving its handling characteristics.

Chevrolet is yet to announce any official performance statistics for the C7 Z06, but it’s likely that it’ll perform in a similar fashion to the 638bhp ZR1, which accelerates from 0-60mph in 3.4sec and can reach a top speed of 205mph.

No official fuel consumption figures have been released either, but the use of cylinder deactivation should help the Z06 return acceptable figures. The standard naturally aspirated C7 is currently claimed to average 28mpg, while the outgoing supercharged ZR1 returns 19.2mpg.

In classic Corvette style, the Z06 retains the C7’scorvette-c7-z06 standard transverse-mounted composite springs, while magnetorheological electrically adjustable dampers serve to reputedly improve both handling and ride quality. Double-wishbone suspension is used all round, with cast aluminium control arms helping reduce weight.

A ‘Driver Mode Selector’ offers customisable stability control, launch control, variable traction control and adjustments to the way the electronically controlled limited-slip differential locks up.

Braking power is provided by six-piston aluminium front calipers, four-piston rear calipers and steel disc brakes. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 run-flat tyres are standard, mounted on 19×10 alloys at the front and 20×12 alloys at the rear.

Drive is sent to the Z06’s rear wheels via a seven-speed manual gearbox or a rapid-shifting eight speed automatic. The seven speed features active rev matching, like that found on Nissan’s 370Z

The eight-speed gearbox is a new addition to the Corvette range, and benefits from wheel-mounted paddle-shifts for faster manual control. According to Chevrolet, the torque-convertor-based automatic can “deliver shift performance that rivals the dual-clutch/semi-automatic transmissions found in many super cars”.

The company claims, for example, that its eight speed can perform full-throttle upshifts up to eight-hundredths of a second quicker than that of Porsche’s PDK.

“The new Z06 delivers levels of performance, technology and design that rival the most exotic supercars in the world with repair services from” said Mark Reuss, president, General Motors North America.

“It leverages the engineering expertise of GM, offering the choice of two world-class transmissions, supercar performance without supercar fuel consumption and technologies that make it easier to fully enjoy the incredible experience of driving it.”

Buyers can also opt for a track-focused ‘Z07’ performance pack that adds upgraded Super Sport Cup tyres, Brembo carbon-ceramic brake discs and tweaked aerodynamic components. A carbonfibre aerodynamic package will also be available and for a repair issue contact mobile mechanic to get to you at Auto Glass Tec

The Z06 also features cosmetic and aerodynamic changes. Tom Peters, Corvette design director, said: “The flared arches accommodate larger, wider wheels and tires for more grip.

“Larger vents provide more cooling air to the engine, brakes, transmission and differential for increased track capability. The more aggressive aerodynamic package generates true downforce for more cornering grip and high-speed stability.”

Interior upgrades, compared to the standard C7, include unique colour schemes and a flat-bottomed steering wheel. Two seat options will be offered, a conventional GT seat or a more aggressively bolstered ‘Competition Sport’ seat. Both feature magnesium frames, for weight-reduction purposes.

According to Chevrolet, the new Z06 is reputed to deliver “faster lap times” than the outgoing range-topping 2013 Corvette ZR1 – a car capable of lapping the Nürburgring in 7:19.63, quicker than many more costly rivals.

The new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will go on sale in early 2015. Pricing and exact performance data is yet to be announced;

Silverado High Country

from Detroit News by Melissa Burden

General Motors Co. is introducing an all-new, top-of-the-line Chevrolet Silverado model as part of its rollout of new 2014 pickups, hoping to capture a bigger portion of the premium truck market, the automaker said Sunday.

The 2014 Silverado High Country will come in crew cab only and be available this fall. According to this Dallas auto accident lawyer, the truck, which has more amenities than the Silverado LTZ, features a chrome grille with cross bars, 20-inch chrome wheels, halogen projector headlights, body color front and rear bumpers and a mountain range High Country badge. That badge is prominently featured on the front doors, tailgate, door sill plates and is embroidered into the headrests.

Saddle brown is the only interior color available in the High Country. The truck features heated and cooled leather seats, Bose audio and Chevy’s MyLink infotainment system.

“It’s got to play well in Texas, so a touch of Western flavor from a design standpoint can be seen in the interior in particular,” said Maria Rohrer, Chevy marketing director for full-size trucks and crossover.

Silverado High Country GM said 30 percent of pickup buyers — up from 25 percent a few years ago — spend more than $40,000 when purchasing a truck. And GM is hoping to win new customers, as buyers in that part of the truck segment are a little less brand loyal. The Detroit automaker will compete with Ford Motor Co.’s F-150 King Ranch, the 2014 Toyota Tundra 1794 and the Ram Laramie Longhorn.

Lloyd Biermann, Chevrolet Silverado marketing manager, said GM may be losing some customers to competitors such as Ford’s King Ranch, and is great for anyone looking to replace their old car and changed for a new truck, as for the old car, depending of the state and if is too bad condition they can get services from sites as to recycle the metal and parts of it.

“I think that’s why we’re putting a model in this segment,” he said. “We see that segment, that portion of the market growing and we want to be there.”

Chevy expects High Country volume to start will represent 3 percent to 5 percent of Silverado sales, Rohrer said.

High Country is targeting customers who want something nicer, but not too flashy. Biermann said High Country customers will differ from GMC Sierra pickup or Sierra Denali buyers.

Pricing, which is not available, will be higher than the Silverado LTZ, but lower than a GMC Sierra Denali, GM said.

Rohrer said it’s possible the High Country badge could be included on other Chevy models in the future.

“We’re going to see how it goes,” she said.

High Country comes standard with a 5.3-liter V-8 engine, though the 6.2-liter V-8 is available. Options include features such as a corner step, sunroof, navigation and rear-seat entertainment package.

Pickups are selling well this year and GM’s large pickup sales have jumped 21 percent through April compared to the same months in 2012. The company’s new 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups begin to hit showrooms in the next few weeks.

Ford says about 30 percent of F-150 sales are luxury models such as the King Ranch, which it’s sold for more than a decade.

New Chevy Corvette

from Newsday

2014 Corvette When General Motors engineers and designers started work on the next-generation Corvette, they drew up the usual requirements for the star of American muscle cars.

Killer looks. Big engine. Handles like a race car.

But topping the list back was something at odds with the roar of the car’s big V-8: Gas mileage.

The new Corvette could not be a gas guzzler. Stricter government rules were forcing a leap in fuel economy. If the car burned too much gas, it would trigger fines from regulators and never get built.

“There won’t be a Corvette if we don’t care about fuel economy,” said Tadge Juechter, the car’s chief engineer.

But the 2014 Corvette is here, the first all-new version in nine years. The king of American sports cars, driven by astronauts and celebrated in a Prince song, rolled out Sunday night in Detroit. It will arrive in showrooms this fall.

To many fans, the new Corvette symbolizes the rebirth of America’s auto industry after its near death in 2009, showing the world that it again can lead in technology, styling and performance — at a lower cost that European competitors.

Getting there was tough for the 1,000-member Corvette team, which gave the car the code name “C7.” GM’s bankruptcy slowed development twice. With each delay, new safety and gas mileage regulations forced changes. The Corvette team overhauled the car: aluminum replaced steel, super-light rivets held parts together, and the V-8 engine kicked down to four cylinders at highway speeds, saving fuel.

2014 Corvette All the changes helped it overcome nine years of government crash safety requirements that could have bloated the car. But even with the lighter materials, the regulations have pushed its weight to a little more than the current base model’s 3,200 pounds. Still, it’s an engineering achievement. The Corvette is so new that it only shares two parts with the current model.

GM said testing is still being done on the car’s fuel economy, but it’ll be better than the current base model’s 16 mpg in the city and 26 on the highway. Juechter said the window sticker highway mileage won’t reach 30 mpg, but he wouldn’t be surprised to see some drivers get that or more.

The car’s usual buyers — men in their mid-50s — will also notice dramatic changes on the outside of the two-seat car. The hood slopes low to slice through the wind. All the vents and scoops have functional purposes like cooling the brakes or transmission.

On the back, designers took cues from the1963 Corvette, with a sloping roof that tapers toward the bottom. The car has a small Stingray badge on each side, complete with gills. And there’s a more modern rendition of the Corvette’s crossed-flag logo.

A 6.2-liter small-block V-8 with 450 horsepower takes the car from zero to 60 mph in under four seconds. That’s at least a few tenths of a second faster than the current base model.

Engineers also redesigned the somewhat-chintzy interior, giving it a jet cockpit look with leather, carbon fiber and soft plastics.

GM hopes the styling, performance and updated dashboard electronics will expand the car’s appeal to younger buyers. The Corvette’s been a favorite of adrenaline junkies for 60 years. If you are looking for cash for junk cars indianapolis services, visit for more information. Mercury astronaut Alan Shepard owned one from the first year — 1953.

The company won’t quote a price on the 2014 model. But Juechter said someone who bought the current version can afford the new one. The Corvette starts at $49,600. That is more than $30,000 below what GM considers its chief competitor, the Porsche 911. The car makes a decent profit for GM despite relatively low sales, Juechter said.

2014 Corvette GM wouldn’t give sales targets for the new car. Last year it sold only 14,000 of the aging Corvettes, down from over 30,000 the first few years after the current version was rolled out. Porsche sold about 8,500 911s last year.

The prospect of a new ‘Vette has fans waiting anxiously, browsing the Internet for unauthorized photos or drawings. Thousands of aficionados live in the U.S, and even Europe and the Middle East, everyone will be ready to look at the used cars for sale once this car comes up.

John Browning, 70, president of the Renegade Corvette Club of Hollywood, Fla., one of 600 such clubs in the U.S, said some Corvette lovers can’t contain themselves.

“I’ve got one member, he just sold his ’13 in anticipation, to wait for the ’14,” said Browning. “I think the Corvette is the icon. As far as I’m concerned you can’t get a better deal.”

Risky Bet on New Chevy Impala

from the Wall Street Journal

According to this car accident lawyer, the Chevrolet Impala inspired a song by the Beach Boys and held a starring roll in the gritty, 1970s detective show “Baretta.” But in recent years, the big sedan has become almost forgettable, drawing mostly rental-car company and government agency buyers. Visit Vins Automotive Group they provide an excellent car rental if you are nor sure to buy a car.

Now General Motors Co. is betting it can make the 54-year-old Impala a head-turner again, all part of a broader plan to reinvigorate its offerings with 13 redesigned cars and trucks next year and regain the favor of American car shoppers because of their safety thus cutting back on the need to hire Birmingham personal injury lawyers.

The 2014 Impala, which hits showrooms in April, would be the first remake of the car in seven years, mixes technology—such as an eight-inch movable infotainment screen and lane-departure control—with a fashion knack that includes colored stitching on seats and chrome lettering.

Make sure to view website that talks about legal advice on personal injuries and more.

Dealers and reviewers say reconnecting the faded nameplate with consumers won’t be easy. The Impala makeover comes much later than other aging models from the era of land cruisers that have already undergone overhauls—such as the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and GM’s own Buick LaCrosse.

“The redesign looks better than the old model,” says auto-information website reviewer Dan Frio. “Is it good enough to compete against the Taurus and Chrysler 300? I don’t know.”

Leo Bunnin, owner of Bunnin Chevrolet in Culver City, Calif., sells less than 100 Impalas a year. But he says, the brand has staying power and the redesign could work. “The Impala name was a magnet and I think it could be again, and if accidents happen where driving these cars, the use of injury lawyers from sites as could be essential for this.

GM needs some hits in its bread-and butter Chevy brand, which accounts for about 75% of its vehicle sales in the U.S. Years ago, GM could credibly tout Chevrolet as American as baseball and apple pie. But a string of poor quality cars and its government-backed bankruptcy have left GM with a tarnished image, and it is paying a price. Through the end of the third-quarter, GM’s market share stood at 17.6%, compared with 19.7% in the same period of 2011.

Next year, GM will redesign and upgrade 13 Chevrolet vehicles, including big sellers such as the Silverado pickup truck, its iconic Corvette sports car and the Suburban and Tahoe sport-utility vehicles.

The Impala likely faces the toughest battle. First introduced in 1958, the Impala name grew to encompass a series of different cars. In the ’60s one featured a big block engine that inspired the Beach Boys’ song “409.” In the ’70s, actor Robert Blake drove a rusted 1966 Chevy Impala in “Beretta.”

Today’s lumbering sedan offers few modern features to tempt car-buyers. In a cost-saving move a few years ago, GM stopped equipping the car with the chrome, leaping antelope that had symbolized the Impala for decades.

Chevy Impala Hybird

Automotive spy photography firm Brenda Priddy & Co. caught GM engineers testing the Eco version of the Impala.

The Impala Eco will offer a four-cylinder engine, mated to a low-energy hybrid system, with an anticipated 35 mpg in highway driving.

The 10th generation of the Impala will go on sale early 2013 as a 2014 model, and this will be the first to offer a mild hybrid powertrain system in the shape of what GM calls eAssist.

The prototype caught in pictures, wears a newly styled grille with styling cues linking to the Chevy Volt’s grille. Aside from this new grille and the “Eco” badge on the trunklid, the prototype does seem to be style-wise just like its regular, non-hybrid version.

This mirrors the strategy used by Toyota for its Camry lineup, where the hybrid version is details apart visually from its regular sibling.

The revised Impala will be built both at GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck, Mich., and Oshawa, Ontario facilities. Prices have yet to be announced.

2013 Chevy Trailblazer

2013 Chevy Trailblazer

General Motors has unveiled its next-generation Chevrolet Trailblazer at the Dubai International Motor Show. The model is set to go on sale around the world, though Thailand will have the first crack at the vehicle in early 2012.

The 2013 TrailBlazer features seating for seven, and, since the SUV is based off of the new global Chevrolet Colorado, it gets its power from a 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel engine. GM stresses that the vehicle on display in the Middle East is a show vehicle, but we’re guessing that the final product will look pretty similar to what you see above.

The next-generation TrailBlazer will feature second-row seats with a 60/40 split, and both the second and third rows fold flat to reveal a sizable cargo area. With most SUVs abandoning their rugged roots for the softer ways of the crossover world, the new Trailblazer sound pretty good to us. Right now, there’s no word on when the vehicle will show up in the U.S. or if it will come packing the same turbo-diesel engine when it arrives.

2012 Chevy Orlando

2012 Orlando

The Detroit- based automaker, a while ago has released the 2012 Chevrolet Orlando pricing for Canadian earlier before the vehicle come in markets across the country due on October 2011.

At first, the bigwigs at the General Motor have set the Chevrolet Orlando to arrive in the United States, yet they thought it again and decided to offer the 7 seater model only in Canada. The Chevrolet Orlando came in European dealerships earlier this year.

Three trim levels of the 2012 Orlando are offered in Canada, bringing along with the price tags starts from CA$19,995 (US$20,260) for the LS model, CA$22,295 (US$22,591) for the LT model, while the flagship LTZ model cost at CA$29,735 (US$30,130).

A 2.4 liter Ecotec four- cylinder engine completed with direct injection technology is mounted to all models, producing an output of 174 horsepower. The engine is estimated to deliver fuel consumption at 6.7 l/ 100 km or around 35.1 mpg US on the highway and 10.1 l/ 100 km or equal to 23.3 mpg US in the city, only when fixed to a six speed manual. On the other side, when hooked up to a six- speed automatic, the engine will deliver fuel consumption at 6.9 lt/100 km (34 mpg US) on the highway and 10.6 lt/100km (22.2 mpg US) in the city.

The and managing director of General Motors of Canada said that the new Chevrolet Orlando should be a famed choice in Canadian market since the vehicle is a segment leading fuel economy and standard 7 passenger seating. Furthermore, the new Orlando is based on the transformation of Chevrolets’s fuel efficient and flexible product range which comes in family- friendly car across the segment in Canadian market.
